Kitchen sizes
How a kitchen is priced, by size
What each size includes. Your estimate counts your doors and lists the repairs.
Small kitchen
About 12 to 20 fronts. A galley or small U with a few uppers. Doors and drawer fronts sprayed in the shop, boxes finished in place, primer and two finish coats, hardware removed and refit.
Medium kitchen
About 20 to 35 fronts. An L or U with uppers on two or three walls, with the same scope as the small kitchen and more of it.
Large kitchen
35 fronts or more. An island, a pantry wall or a second run of cabinets. The price climbs with the door count and the repairs.
Repairs, a color change from dark to light, new hardware and walls or ceilings are separate lines on your written estimate.
What moves the price
Six things that change a cabinet price
Door and drawer count
The first number we write down. Every front is sprayed, so every front counts.
Door style
Flat and shaker doors are quicker than raised panels and carved details.
Current finish and condition
A cabinet in sound paint costs less to prep than one with heavy grease or peeling thermofoil.
Color change
Dark to light takes more primer and more coats than a color close to what you have.
Repairs
Dings, holes and open grain filled for a smooth door add hours.
Hardware
New pulls and hinges are their own line, with the cost of the hardware itself.

Every line is a promise about what's included
A range of days, never a promised date

About pricing
Money questions
What is on your written estimate?
The number of doors, drawer fronts and boxes, the repairs, the primer and finish with sheen, the colors, the hardware plan, the schedule, the payment schedule and the warranty. If a line isn't there, it isn't included.
What costs extra?
Repairs found after the doors come off, water-damaged boxes, a second color inside the cabinets, new hardware and any change to the layout. We tell you which of these we see at the walkthrough.
Who buys the paint, and which brand?
We do. The estimate names the primer and finish in plain words, and the data sheets are yours to read. We don't print brand names in our copy, but we'll tell you what we're using.
How do the deposit and payments work?
Your written estimate lists the deposit and the payment schedule. Nothing is due that isn't on it.
What does the warranty cover?
What it covers, for how long and what voids it are in your written warranty. Terms, limits and exclusions are in that document, so read it before you sign.
