About the shop

A finishing shop, not a painting crew

Lester Henley started the shop to do one thing well: make old cabinets look new without selling anyone a kitchen they don't need.

We're seven people with a spray room on Prospect Street and a van for the boxes. We take on kitchen cabinets, trim and built-ins, and we turn down jobs where replacing is the better answer.

Every job has a named lead, a written scope and a walkthrough with the person who will do the work.

How we run a job

  • One named lead on every job

  • A written scope before any door comes off

  • A walkthrough with the person doing the work

Two hands each holding a square finish sample, one beige and one gray, in front of a board of swatches

The people

Five of the seven, and what each does

Two more finishers work under them in the shop and the kitchen.

  • Lester Henley

    Owner and lead finisher

Runs the walkthroughs, writes each scope and signs off every kitchen before the doors go back on.

  • Ryo Kato

    Spray shop lead

Sprays doors and drawer fronts and checks each coat before it goes on the rack.

  • Flavia Espino

    Estimator and scheduler

Counts the doors, writes the estimate and keeps your dates.

  • Pradeep Verma

    Trim and built-ins lead

Fills, caulks and finishes casing, wainscot, bookcases and mantels.

  • Jeri Lindgren

    Prep and hardware

Degreases, sands, labels doors and hinges, and sets everything back.
